I'm not sure this warrants its own post, really, but here he is... are you ready? Women, you may want to avert your eyes, although unless you also plug your ears I can't promise you that Dimitri won't be able to seduce you using purely auditory means. He's like a Bene Gesserit. (Although he wouldn't know what that is, being too busy fucking women and teaching men how to fuck women to waste time reading a book. Women don't care about books. So Dimitri has jettisoned them from his existence.)
Official website.
A fairly brief and illuminating radio interview with Dimitri the Lover, wherein his basic philosophy and techniques are outlined for those men smart enough to learn. Normally he charges for this information, people.
Voicemail recordings of Dimitri's very reasonable and not-at-all enraged reaction after receiving a woman's card in the street, leaving a message explaining his situation and this ridiculous, foolish woman's opportunity to have her life improved, and then giving her one more chance to rectify her mistake.
(As an aside: those Posterous blogs are really nice looking! Very clean, nicely proportioned, tasteful. Shit. It almost makes me wish I hadn't already built this blog into such a mammoth ziggaraut of awesomeness and testement to my own brilliance.)

Your heart's been aching for far too long.
I've been neglecting actually writing anything for the blog lately. Moved last week. Everything went as smoothly as could be hoped. I'm still settling into my new place, but already it's a huge step up. School's been busy, and kind of dreary and disappointing lately as well, but I'm sure it will come together. More on this later, perhaps.
So... more fairly stupid videos. This time without the bizarre level of pretension, which I enjoyed the hell out of even if no one else seemed to. A lot of these are fairly well circulated, some not so much. I'm of the camp with regard to the Letterman incident that Phoenix was (relatively) sober, and that it was not an act. If you haven't seen it, and consider yourself a fan of Shandling/Gervais style sweet-painful-awkward humor, you have to watch this interview. Also, if the Christian Bale thing gets you down a bit, there's an apology recording out there that puts it in the context you would expect, i.e. actors completely pumped up on scene related adrenaline, and then madness. It would be wonderful if the new Terminator movie could actually deliver on any of the potential of the earlier films. The other night a few friends and I caught the tail end of the original Terminator on cable. I'm not really holding out much hope. They simply don't make action movies in that way anymore.
Ah, and if the videos aren't your style, this Atlantic article regarding changing reading patterns (and subsequent thought patterns) should, I think, be read by all literate human beings with any interest in what is happening inside their minds and how they're processing information internally. (Just kidding. Here's the article. Sorry. I couldn't resist.)
Oh, and a new podcast as well, which can be found in the sidebar along with all of the previous episodes from this "season." Pretty subdued. Some Spanish language music, some English Tone Poems, and me reading an excerpt of Suttree a little too fast. I think I'm pretty much doing the podcasts for myself and Laraine at this point, judging by the fact that there have been no downloads from the last three episodes. Ah well.

Koos Van Der Akker
Probably the most interested I've found myself in a piece of fashion related analysis in a long, long time. Nicely done profile of a figure whose work is known to basically everyone of my generation, despite the fact that I have my doubts that anyone has ever given much thought as to where these things actually came from.
What things?
Cosby sweaters. (He's got quite a great tattoo as well, eh? Old codgers like that with their faded forearm pieces are always a pleasant thing for me.)

Podcasts, for listening. Videos, for watching.

New shows: 02.11.09, 02.25.09 and 03.11.09. Recap of the past few that were previously available, if you're inclined to catch up. 12.17.08, 01.14.09, and 01.28.09.
The February shows were going through a bit of a slump, but tonight's show is one of the best in a while. And good mike breaks! An extremely rare occurrence, to be sure. Also, near the end of 02.25 Eno's Discreet Music failed to make it past the compressor... meaning about 12 minutes of dead air. I'll leave the fast forwarding to your discretion, although meditation/quiet contemplation of your life thus far is an option I wouldn't presume to deny you. Anyway, thanks for listening, and I hope you enjoy them.
